About the IMC

The Innominata Mountain Club are an active and friendly group of climbers, hill walkers and mountaineers. Our members come from Stockport, Cheshire, and Manchester.

We number about 80 with an age range from early 20s through to 70s. Our activities include hill walking, scrambling, rock climbing, and mountaineering. Members also organise day time climbing and scrambling days usually by WhatsApp or climbing and walking holidays e.g. to Norway, the Costa Blanca, Kalymnos, Arriege, Ireland or Scotland. Groups of members also take part in road cycling, mountain biking and kayaking.

We have regular monthly weekend meets ,monthly hill walking meets and weekly climbing meets. Members also meet informally to climb, walk and scramble when the weather and availability allows. These activities are organised on their respective WhatApp groups.

On the first Thursday of the month we have a pub meet, at The Grapes, 196 London Road. Stockport. SK7 4DQ (click here for a map). Other social events such as attending lectures and comedy club events trips for example down Alderley Edge Mines.

The club is part of the BMC’s #FindYourAdventure programme. The programme encourages participation of young people in outdoor clubs. We welcome climbers, hill walkers and mountaineers of all abilities and levels of experience. For example our membership secretary learned to lead trad climbs

You can come to the monthly pub meet or see us down the climbing wall. Alternatively get in touch with us via the form on the ‘Contact‘ page.

Membership costs just £30 a year, go to our Membership page to find out how to join.
