Meet Organisers wanted
Your club needs you!

We aim to hold a weekend meet every month (except November, due to the Christmas Meet usually taking place at the beginning of December). Usually we stay in climbing huts which provide cheap basic facilities in shared bunkhouse accommodation, or camping in the summer. You will usually need to bring a sleeping bag and your own food. Sometimes there is the option to eat in a nearby pub, and occasionally a communal meal may be arranged which is paid for separately from the meet itself.
Throughout the year there are usually a few longer trips arranged both in the UK and overseas.
We need a volunteer on each meet to act as the meet organiser. This isn't very onerous, but it is essential for the smooth running of the meets. For more information, or to volunteer for this role on any of the meets, contact the Meets Secretary
JUNE 11-18
Cornwall camping meet - St Buryan
We will be staying at the lovely Tower Park Caravan and Campsite in St Buryan, near Lands End. Plenty of superb sea cliff climbing, and excellent walking. Please book direct with the campsite here and let Andy Crawley know you're coming
JULY 1-3
North Wales camping meet - Llyn Rhys, Llandegla
The July camping meet will be from Friday 1st to Sunday 3rd July. Please make your own booking arrangments with the campsite, and let Julia Davis know once you are booked in so we know who to expect. If the booking link in the website doesn’t work then phone the site and Christine will take the details over the phone. She is having a little difficulty with the new booking system at the moment.
If you see the pink text strip on the website saying they are closed ignore it as it is out of date.
Location. https://llynrhyscampsite.co.uk/
The campsite is almost next to the mountain biking trails at Llandegla https://oneplanetadventure.com/trails-2/
The Offa’s Dyke footpath passes through very close to the campsite and there is walking in the forest.
It is approximately 20/25 mins drive to the climbing at Trevor Quarry near Llangollen and there are many other limestone climbing areas close by. https://www.ukclimbing.com/logbook/crags/trevor_quarry-427/
AUGUST 13-20
Lundy Island, Bristol Channel
Not only is the climbing superb, but Lundy is a very special place, with spectacular coastal scenery and sheltered valleys, rich in wildflowers and wildlife . We are staying in the Barn. This trip has been carried over from 2020 and is fully booked.
Due to someone dropping out we now have one space in the Barn - contact Andy if interested.
it may also be possible to camp (please book this direct with the Landmark Trust)
